Guest post by Jessica Isherwood : Wedding Photographer

I love photography so much that even when I am not shooting a real wedding I love photographing couples in love.

Samantha is one of my best friends and she kindly agreed to model for me with her boyfriend Lee. I asked some local suppliers all based in Lancashire to help me create something magical. I'm so pleased with the outcome.

The flowers created by Rachel and Lucy were incredible and it was lovely to have them their on the day. The wedding dress that fit Samantha perfectly, fit right in with the vintage, rustic theme I wanted for the day. Lee's suit was also perfect for the occasion.

I had a few sleepless nights worrying about how it would work, but on the day it all came together and I loved photographing it so much. Thank you so much to everyone who gave their time, energy and TALENT!!

The amazing wedding suppliers involved….

Summer Wedding Last Dates.jpg

Feel the Festival energy on your Wedding day at Wyresdale.

We really love a festival style wedding here at Wyresdsale and we know you guys do too.

There really isn’t much not to love about a rustic barn setting and then totally making it your own with custom decor and styling.

Anna and Daniel tied the knot in September 2017 here at Wyresdale Wedding Barn in Scorton, Lancashire. The happy couple really went to town on the decor and took full advantage of being able to dress the venue themselves along with the help of family and friends in the build up to their big day.

We loved the colorful drapes stretching across the wedding barn complimented by the hundreds of origami cranes.

They were blessed with glorious weather, which allowed them to host their dream celebrations, complete with outdoor games including croquet and a giant game of connect four which proved to be extremely popular with the younger guests.

The North Wing of Wyresdale Hall was used for the bridal suite allowing the brides entourage to pamper and prepare ahead of the wedding.

Post ceremony, our famous rowing boat was utilised for a romantic photoshoot out on the lake to add to the magnificent album created by photographer Claire Basiuk who has kindly shared the photos below.

Happy New Year

Midweek Weddings

5 Benefits of Booking a Midweek Wedding

It’s hard to ignore the numerous benefits of having a midweek wedding with so many couples increasingly ditching the traditional Saturday ceremony and choosing to tie the knot on a weekday.  So with several dates currently available for midweek weddings here at Wyresdale, we thought we’d better share with you our top 5 reasons to hold the ceremony during the week;

1. Budget

The cost saving of a midweek wedding can be quite significant, typically 40%. The savings made could then be used to make your special occasion even more extravagant than initially envisaged or to perhaps contribute to an extended honeymoon.

2. Suppliers availability

You’ll generally find that your first choice entertainers, photographers and caterers are more likely to be available for your special day. Plus many suppliers offer mid-week incentives,  enabling you to go all out on the extras. Here at Wyresdale the estate runs at a quiter pace, giving the venue an increased aura of exclusivity and intimacy.

3. A day off work for your guests

With many guests taking a day of work to enjoy your special day, it adds a special and intimate feel to the occasion.

4. Start your honeymoon on the weekend

Tying the knot midweek frees up your weekend to get the honeymoon underway at the weekend, which can work better with many travel/flight operators.

5. Secure the venue dates

With many key dates now booked up, especially in Summer, setting a midweek date could ensure that your dream venue is still available around your desired dates.
